Seth Goldman
RFC 89 Player, Seth Goldman, Commits to American University's Division I Program

Greg Oxley
Jul 2, 2007  Seth Goldman to attend American University.

On July 1st, Seth Goldman became the 6th RFC 89 player to make his commitment to play for a top college program by accepting the offer from American University.

American University competes in the highly respected Patriot League against such opponents as Army, Navy, Lehigh, Bucknell, Colgate and Holy Cross. In 2007, they will play an extremely strong out of conference schedule against traditional soccer powers like George Mason, Princeton, Penn, Old Dominion, James Madison and VCU. The 2007 season will start with American's defense of the College Capital Cup against GWU, Georgetown at GMU.

Academically, AU is ranked as one of the top national universities by U.S. News and World Reports' annual listings of America's Best Colleges. It is world renowned for it academic programs and Washington, DC location.

The AU Eagles are led by Head Coach Todd West, First Assistant Jeff Kinney and Assistant Steve Totten.

About his recent decision, Seth had the following comments:

First of all l would like to thank Coaches Jeff Kinney and Steve Totten for making this an easy decision for me. Coach West and I saw eye to eye and I'm looking forward to playing for American and earning my degree. Also, I would like to thank the team, players and parents both for making me feel right at home from the very start. From the 6 am. fitness practices in the bitter cold to traveling all over the country together I could not have asked for a better soccer experience. RFC has improved my game without doubt and I know I will only get better at American University. I'm excited and relieved that this part of my college decision process is over, and now I can move on and focus in on finishing up school and working hard to help the team win more tournaments and the state cup.

The RFC 89 coaching staff advises that several more RFC 89 players are very close to making commitments to major college programs. The RFC 89 side will next be in action against top opponents in Score at the Shore in late July and in the U-19 Super Group at Surf Cup in early August.
